- Final dates to take the exam:
Exam scores are released on the dates shown on the calendar below. If you want your exam result on a specific scoring date, which are the dates filled in with blue, you MUST take your exam a minimum of three days before that score release date. Those dates are shown circled in light blue.
There are no exceptions to this. It is essential to plan your exam day with the scoring calendar in mind.
Score dates are shown colored in blue. The final date you can take the exam to receive your results on the score date is circled in light blue.
If you were approved to test on a DVF, your score will be released on the scoring date only if your transcript is processed before that date. If your transcript has not been processed, your score will not be released until we receive and approve your official final transcript.
If your transcript is approved after the original scoring date has passed, your score will be released in 24-48 business hours from the approval. You do not need to wait until the next scoring date. Your score will also be released to any state licensing boards you requested within the same time frame.
Please send your official final transcript to NBCOT as soon as it is available. Electronic transcripts should be sent to transcripts@nbcot.org and need to be sent through a secure and verifiable transcript service or clearinghouse. If the transcript is mailed, send to our address at the bottom of this page.
Due to annual maintenance updates, there will be an examination blackout period December 18, 2024 – January 1, 2025. Candidates will not be able to take the examination during this time. The last day to take the NBCOT examination in 2024 is December 17, 2024. Testing will resume on January 2, 2025.
Please also note, in order to guarantee issuance of an ATT letter before the NBCOT office closes, a candidate’s application must be complete, including receipt of payment and an official final transcript or DVF by Monday, December 16, 2024. Transcripts are reviewed in the order they are received. Please continue to check your MyNBCOT account for updates regarding your transcript approval and exam application status.
